The single-footed jump is usually used by talented natural leapers. The technique of the one-footed jump is much harder to practise. Your explosiveness is a really important factor when you use the single-footed jump.

In case you are just starting to train your vertical leaping ability I would strongly recommend using the two-footed jump, since it's easier to train than the single-footed jump.
